First SOE Scotland convention brings mock public inquiry to Truckfest16 March 2015

Visitors to Truckfest Scotland (1-2 August, Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh) will have the opportunity to view a mock public inquiry, where Scottish traffic commissioner Joan Aitkin will preside over a fictional case.

The mock inquiry will form part of the 2015 Scottish irtec convention on the opening day. Transport law firm Backhouse Jones will take the role of defence lawyers.

The inaugural convention, sponsored by Brigade Electronics, is open to IRTE members, irtec-accredited technicians and fleet engineers. Up to 100 tickets are available for the convention, which will also include panel sessions on Euro 6 diagnostics, Whole Vehicle Type Approval and trailer braking issues.

For a ticket, email irtecconvention@irtec.org.uk

The convention is being staged by the Society of Operations Engineers' (SOE) Scotland Development Group, whose members are pictured at a recent tour of the HGV training facility for New College Lanarkshire.
