Fishers takes another 18 DAF rigids with Ryder02 March 2017

Scottish commercial laundry firm Fishers has taken delivery of another 18 vehicles on lease from Ryder as part of its ongoing fleet replacement programme.

They comprise 17 DAF LF220 15-tonners and one LF150 7.5-tonner, all fitted with AS Tronic six-speed AMTs (automated manual transmissions), day cabs, box bodies, and air conditioning – as well as the firm’s new livery.

Fishers is a member of the ECO Stars Fleet Recognition Scheme, so also specified aerodynamic roof spoilers from Hatcher Components.

“At Fishers, we are committed to being dependable and efficient. Leasing vehicles from Ryder supports us in meeting a number of our objectives, including maintaining vehicle uptime,” comments Fishers commercial director Scott Inglis.

“We have been working with Ryder since 2013 and know that they are reliable and have a strong network throughout Scotland and the North of England. The latest vehicles also include tyre management for extra piece of mind,” he continues.

“It’s also important to us that Ryder’s costs and maintenance charges are included in the lease cost, allowing us to forecast transport and logistics budgets effectively,” he adds.

The new vehicles collect and deliver linen, chefswear, workwear, and cleanroom garments and are fitted with tail-lifts (for customers that can accept roll cages) and roller side doors (for customers who can only accept bagged deliveries).
