Five new rigids from Fraikin help Belgrade Insulations expand its service 01 September 2021

Fraikin’s long-standing relationship with nationwide supplier of insulation and drywall systems, Belgrade Insulations, has been strengthened with the delivery of five new DAF curtainsiders.

The seven-year, full-service contract hire agreement sees four 32-tonne and one 26-tonne DAF CF rigid trucks join the company’s 43-strong mixed commercial vehicle fleet. The increased load capacity of the 32-tonners was specified by the company to help expand the services it is able to offer its customers.

Paul Khan, commercial director at Belgrade Insulations, says: “We have trusted Fraikin with our fleet for 10 years now; it understands what we need from our vehicles and always works hard to deliver the best solution.

“We are known for being a forward-thinking business, and Fraikin supports this by introducing us to the latest technology whenever we’re looking at bringing in new vehicles, and the latest five are no different.”

Each rigid carries a truck-mounted forklift to facilitate easy loading and unloading in any location. The new additions are also all fitted with a telematics package, external camera system, a lower passenger door window to improve driver visibility and a rear-steering axle for better manoeuvrability. These features ensure the fleet is FORS Silver rated and London Direct Vision Standard compliant.

Fraikin now supplies 25 rigids on contract hire to Belgrade Insulations. With consistent monthly operating costs, the company is able to focus on its core business activities, with all vehicle repair, maintenance and servicing managed through Fraikin’s national network of workshops. In addition to this, Belgrade Insulations has the ability to track and monitor the progress of any work through Fraikin’s online web portal, FraikinView.

Three of the new assets will be based at Belgrade Insulations’ Glasgow, Birmingham and Northampton branches, with the remaining two in operation in Leeds. The company also has depots in Portsmouth and London. On the road five days a week, they will transport insulation and drylining material to builders’ merchants and construction sites across the country.

To provide additional support to the business, Fraikin has retained some of Belgrade Insulations’ older assets, placing them into its national rental fleet to help ensure the company has access to suitable, additional vehicles if required.

“It’s great to know that thanks to Fraikin’s aftersales care we have a contingency in place if we ever need to take an asset off the road – something that’s especially important with the current pressures on new vehicle supply,” adds Khan.
