FleetMatics tracking benefits Bettavend transport 17 February 2012

Bettavend has turned to FleetMatics to help manage its commercial transport fleet during a period of growing customer demand.

The office refreshment systems supplier, which serves the Hampshire, has grown its fleet to 28 vehicles, and operations manager Ben West says that, prior to fitting the GPS monitoring solution, the company was unable to identify its engineers' locations – so causing delays between jobs.

"Our aim is to offer a fast, efficient and friendly customer-focused service," says West. "Due to a lack of information on drivers' locations on the road, we were unable to schedule work accurately for them and, as a result, we were weakening the standard of service."

The FleetMatics GPS vehicle tracking system has allowed Bettavend to improve scheduling of jobs and better manage its service engineers, he says.

A further benefit is the reduction of fuel bills. Even though the price of fuel is continuously on the rise, cost cutting has been achieved through a reduction in vehicle idling time, as monitored by the system.

Bettavend has educated its workforce to think more about their idling time, says West, and hence the large fuel saving.
