FORS meets the demand for UK-wide fleet compliance27 November 2015

FORS (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) says it has 3,500 operators signed up to its programme, making it the “go-to standard” for compliance and best practice.

The statement comes in response to a study at last month’s Freight in the City event (Alexandra Palace, London; 27 October), in which 85% of decision-makers in the freight transport sector said there should be a single UK-wide compliance standard for commercial vehicle fleets.

John Hix, FORS community partnership director, says: “The scheme is now a UK-wide concern and, importantly, with 3,500 companies now on board, its position is already cemented within the operating community.”

Importantly, he adds, the progression through bronze, silver and gold FORS accreditation means that operators are encourage to self improve.

“Specifiers across the UK can be safe in the knowledge that their FORS transport suppliers are among the safest, most compliant and most efficient in the industry.”
