FORS reveals pricing as truck safety scheme goes national 02 February 2015

New pricing for FORS (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) has been announced as by the FORS Community Partnership (FCP) rolls out its truck safety scheme nationally.

For new operators to the scheme, annual registration starts from £65 for an operator with one vehicle, plus the cost of an annual audit, rising in increments to £2,250 for operators with more than 100 trucks.

Companies with their own internal audit capability can be approved to certify their own depots to the FORS standard.

The new pricing follows the decision by Transport for London's (TfL) to award the FORS concession to the FCP, which comprises AECOM, CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) and Fleet Source.

"TfL has fully funded FORS for the past seven years and established the scheme as a benchmark standard for industry," comments FCP concession director John Hix.

"The scheme is now being offered across the UK and a funding model has been created to facilitate the continuing growth of the scheme to improve and develop the benefits it offers whilst becoming financially sustainable."

"The FORS Community Partnership has established a fair and sustainable pricing structure to ensure that all fleet operators are encouraged to join the award-winning scheme," adds Steve Agg, chief executive, of CILT.

"We recognise the importance of developing a national benchmark for all and have demonstrated our commitment to professional development in ensuring that all operators have access to FORS."

FORS is the award-winning scheme that mandates the adoption of best safety and environmental practice across fleet operations. FORS members have exclusive access to business with organisations that specify accreditation standards.
