Fraikin reliability is takeaway benefit for T Quality20 February 2020

Catering supplier T Quality has taken delivery of five new DAF refrigerated trucks, supplied by Fraikin on a seven-year, full-service contract hire deal.

The order comprises two 15-tonne and three 7.5-tonne DAF LF rigids, with insulated curtainsider bodies by Solomon and Carrier Transicold Supra refrigeration units.

The new additions replace older models on contract hire from a competitor, and bring the share of Fraikin-supplied vehicles in T Quality’s fleet to more than 50%.

Fraikin’s ability to handle UK-wide maintenance and servicing requirements is crucial for T Quality, which delivers to fish and chip retailers, fast food outlets and other catering businesses.

“We deliver to more than 5,500 customers across the UK every week, so having access to national maintenance support is vital – and that’s something Fraikin’s service network provides,” says Graham Kay, the operator’s national logistics and safety manager.

T Quality uses the FraikinView maintenance portal to help maximise fleet uptime. The online dashboard allows the transport managers to view all scheduled maintenance and track any unplanned work in real time, as well as providing access to all vehicle documentation to aid compliance.

Kay adds: “FraikinView gives us access to vital information about our fleet when we need it. We know exactly when a vehicle is going into the workshop, meaning we can plan our deliveries in advance to ensure minimum disruption to the business.”

Clocking up around 40,000 miles a year, the new vehicles will operate from four of T Quality’s UK depots, in Birmingham, Darlington, Peterborough and Swindon.
