FTA joins the campaign trail with Logistics Manifesto 201515 April 2015

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) is calling on the government to provide more support to the transport sector in its Logistics Manifesto 2015, launched this week at the Commercial Vehicle Show (14-16 April, NEC, Birmingham).

The association says the sector is indispensible to modern life and says politicians need to understand how it operates.

"We can make logistics more efficient, but we need better support from the government," says Karen Dee, FTAs director of policy.

"This doesn't need to come with a huge price tag, but it does need greater understanding of the way we really operate and how government can work with us to achieve its own aims."

The FTA Manifesto has been sent to prospective parliamentary candidates for their consideration during the election campaign.

More information on the manifesto can be found at the FTA stand (4G31) at the NEC.

For the first time at the event, the association has a separate stand for its Van Excellence scheme (4D15).
