G Plan goes for quality engineering with Cartrwirght trailers 20 April 2016

Quality furniture specialist G Plan has ordered 18 bespoke double-deck step frame tandem axle semi-trailers from bodybuilder Cartwright, stating that build quality is excellent.

Each of the new trailers has a fixed deck and a three-metre internal lifting platform at the rear of the trailer. Additional features include a new phenolic floor, Cartwright’s front aerodynamics and LED strip lighting.

Cartwright says the emphasis has been on providing a safer environment for loading and unloading, and adds that the trailers are also equipped with telematics and a camera directed at the lifting deck platform at the rear of the trailer, for live monitoring of loading and unloading.

Since the overall height of the trailer was critical r for deliveries where access can be difficult, Cartwright engineered a very low step frame platform with a rear loading height of 850mm, coupled with a high lift suspension.

“We have been delighted with the build quality from Cartwright which has been excellent,” confirms Stephen Bruce, operations director at G Plan.

“We have used Ryder for many years and it was through them that we met Cartwright. In the end Cartwright offered the best solution for the best price.”
