Glass half full for Marston’s with Isuzu Forward 7.5-tonne rigid07 November 2014

Brewery Marston's has taken delivery of an Isuzu Forward 7.5-tonne rigid for its operation in the south west, where the vehicle's compact footprint is enabling deliveries to sites with restricted access.

Along with the vehicle's small size, its payload of 3,800kg was the other key reason for its specification.

The Isuzu Forward N75.190 is based out of Marston's Exeter depot and has a curtainsider body, built by Paneltex Transload.

"The short-wheelbased Isuzu Forward is the ideal specification that allows us to deliver to premises that would ordinarily be done with a 3.5-tonne van owing to access restrictions," confirms Chris Evans, head of group logistics at Marston's.

"With the Isuzu, we can treble the payload capacity in comparison to the vans we used to operate on these routes, making the whole operation far more efficient and effective for our customers."

The new truck is the first Isuzu within Marston's southern fleet and is involved in dray work, delivering keg and cask beers, packaged goods, wines and spirits, and consumables to customers in the south west.

The vehicle is expected to cover 25,000 miles per annum over its seven-year working life.
