GreenRoad discount now offered to FTA Van Excellence members 03 May 2012

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has negotiated a 10% discount on GreenRoad telematics systems for members, enabling them to improve safety and cut fuel consumption.

GreenRoad is a leader in driver performance and safety management, with drivers having logged over 7.4 billion miles in 2011.

It gives drivers instant feedback on performance, using green-amber-red LEDs on the dashboard. GreenRoad systems analyse the driving while its dashboard lights indicate the severity of each manoeuvre – for example speeding, braking, acceleration, lane-handling and turning.

A typical GreenRoad customer sees up to a 10% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, as well as a 50% reduction in collision costs, according to the company. Further claimed benefits include reduced vehicle wear and tear and reduced insurance premiums.

"The Van Excellence scheme is raising awareness of how the sector can further raise levels of professionalism," comments Aidan Rowsome, general manager of GreenRoad.

"We trust that the support we are now offering through both the workshops and service discount will help fleet managers to work with their drivers to improve performance and achieve additional savings in accident costs, fuel, insurance and wear-and-tear."
