Hankook Truck Masters gets Hicks Logistics vote 17 July 2013

Caldicot, South Wales-based Hicks Logistics is says it is happy with its ongoing choice of Hankook tyres and Hankook Truck Masters service for remote maintenance.

Transport manager Simon Hicks explains that the firm's Scania, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz tractor units are all fitted with Hankook AH22+ and DH05 tyres, while on its trailers the company fits Hankook TH22 wide singles and TH10s on its low loaders.

He also says that Hankook's recently launched Alphatread retread tyres are about to be tested on the fleet in the expectation that they will even better value for money.

Most of the haulier's 70-strong truck fleet operates from Caldicot, where the company's dedicated fitter looks after the tyres. However, 25 trucks and low-loaders are stationed at 10 UK Platforms sites across the UK, from Sussex to Teeside, which is why Hicks uses Hankook Truck Masters for tyre service.

"For us, it is simple," comments Hicks. "We make one telephone call and we know the breakdown or service will be dealt with."

And he adds: "We are often working to tight deadlines and can't afford to be spending time chasing up tyre fitters around the country. Hankook does it all for us. It's convenient, we know what we will be charged, that they will fit the tyres we want and do what we need, when we want."
