Hankook unveils the re-optimised AH22 truck tyre 20 December 2011

Hankook says its AH22+ is an optimised version of the AH22 radial tyre line for trucks, developed for regional traffic.

According to Jin-Wook Choi, executive vice-president of Hankook Tire and head of the company in Europe, it makes improved performance possible in both city and trunking work, thanks to a redesigned tyre structure with wider belt, reinforced bead, new tread design and new compound technology.

Frequent use in delivery traffic makes special demands on tyres, he explains: long mileages and resistance to external influences are important, with high economic efficiency also playing a key role.

The reinforced and flatter design of the carcass makes for a more even distribution of ground pressure, which, combined with the reinforced bead structure guarantees a longer tyre service life even under maximum load, he says.

"We invest around 5% per year in the research and development of our tyres," states Choi. "With the AH22+ we are targeting the specific needs of our customers. The premium tyre guarantees long mileages and high efficiency."
