Hankook’s SmartControl AW02 tyre wins Red Dot Design Award08 April 2015
Tyre manufacturer Hankook has won a leading international design award for its Smart Control AW02 truck and bus radial tyre.
Winning the Red Dot Award for Product Design (vehicle accessories category), Hankook's tread design has been recognised as delivering a direct result on driving performance.
Judges selected the tyre for its innovation, functionality, ecological compatibility and durability.
The SmartControl AW02 is the winter truck and bus radial for severe weather conditions. It delivers, says Hankook, superior traction on snowy and icy roads and has advanced 3D Kerfs technology.
Its wide tread design creates an improved contact shape, while a groove and lug design protects the rubber from cracking, even in extreme driving conditions.
