Haulier picks up on DAF LF’s reliability and versatility13 November 2014

Haulier Fagan & Whalley is moving to a DAF trucks only policy for its distribution fleet up to 12 tonnes, after trials revealed improved reliability, dealer support and driver satisfaction from the LF vehicle.

The company has now replaced two of its 7.5-tonne LFs with Euro 6 models.

One, a 7.5-tonner, is in the company's traditional livery (pictured). The other, a 12-tonner, is in Palletforce colours. Another 12-tonne vehicle has also been ordered.

The two latest arrivals have tail-lifts, with an uprated 1,500kg version specified for the 12-tonne model.

The 7.5-tonne vehicle is being used on urgent courier work for the aerospace industry.

"We regularly have to send lightweight items to France, so we need to know we can be confident of the reliability of the DAF LF," says Stephen Fagan, commercial director.

"The heavier 12-tonne model has proved more efficient for our Palletforce collection and delivery service, as it means we can make the most of the larger payload with the convenience of a smaller vehicle."

The Lancashire-based operator also said DAF's location helped to seal the deal.

"We were also definitely influenced by the LF coming from DAF's plant in nearby Leyland," states Fagan.
