Haweka measures up for accident repair centre11 December 2013

Accident repair centre D Gawthrope ACR has become the first business in the UK to invest in the new Haweka CMC4000 frame measurement system.

The Knottingley, West Yorkshire-based company purchased the Axis4000 truck wheel alignment equipment with the new chassis measuring rig from Haweka UK, to meet increasing demand for its commercial accident repair business.

The CMC4000 frame measurement equipment works as a standalone product or as an add-on to the Axis4000 truck wheel alignment system. Unlike conventional frame measurement systems, the CMC4000 doesn't require removal of parts and enables gradual measurements to be taken, set by the operator.

The system gives accurate results on the condition of the vehicle frame, and provides clear on-screen 3D visualisations of the vehicle chassis before and after straightening.

"We have recently moved to larger premises and invested in new commercial vehicle equipment to allow us to cope with the rising demand for commercial repairs," says Dean Gawthrope, managing director. "After seeing a demonstration of the new CMC4000 rig from Haweka UK, we knew it was the ideal piece of equipment."

He adds: "The Haweka CMC4000 is wireless, quick and precise, allowing us to provide a perfect repair to commercial chassis."
