Herd Business delivers custom cushioned racking for Luton box van conversions13 January 2021

Van hire supplier Herd Business has delivered a fleet of liveried Luton CR35 Volkswagen Crafters to Tramo UK.

Based in Biggleswade Bedfordshire, Tramo is a specialist in the Transport, Logistics and installation of high-end luxury furniture for some of the biggest names in the world of design.

Its requirement from Tramo was for a commercial fleet solution with a bespoke cargo area; that would provide extra protection and support when transporting their goods. The Luton van ordinarily comes standard with racking for strappings to assist with anything from home and office moves to large appliance deliveries. However, Tramo wanted something different, something to ensure luxury furniture had extra protection to minimise any damage caused when furniture was on the road being delivered.

Herd Business rose to the challenge and assisted with the requirement by adding padding and extra strapping points enables improved load security without increasing the risk of damage. The padded rails enable the items/packages to be cushioned against the rough British Roads.

Dean Holmes, Tramo UK fleet and transport manager, said: "I chose Herd for the Lutons with bespoke racking solution over and above other suppliers because the communication, lead-time, guarantees and level of service were all superior and made the whole process very simple."

In addition to this, Tramo have also signed up to Herd Connect Brilliant Fleet Management service. With Herd Connect, Tramo will achieve a paper-free operation. The adoption of the My Vehicle inspection App will enable drivers to carry out vehicle inspections and log defects via smartphones.
