Part of its strategy to increase the services side of the business, the manufacturer’s new facility offers a full range of services, from equipment inspection to preventive maintenance and breakdown support for its skiploaders, cranes and forklifts.
Equipment can be serviced at the new depot, or at a customer’s site using its field service technicians. The Dudley facility is also home to a parts store.
The new facility has 10 new staff along with two apprentices: “Like many industry sectors, ours is facing an impending skills shortage, and we hope these apprentices will pave the way for many more at Hiab UK,” said Rogier van der Linde, managing director of Hiab UK and Ireland.
“Our customers must keep their equipment on the road to stay competitive, and our job is to maximise the uptime of that equipment and to make sure that the customer is safe to go on the road,” he added.
“We are ambitious to grow our business, and our new West Midlands depot will play a very large part in that growth strategy.”
