Highway Plant Hire chooses Andover Trailers 19 July 2013

Highway Plant Hire has added a fifth Andover Trailers plant body to its fleet – with the new addition having a double crank beavertail mounted on a 26-tonne MAN TGS 26.360 rigid.

The bespoke-built LPPB26 body also has hydraulic ramps surfaced in a mix of timber and expamet, hardwood flooring. It has also been fitted with and a remote control winch with snatch block and an emergency stop function, positioned in the headboard.

In addition the deck height of the body is up to five inches lower than a regular plant body, enabling Redruth-based Highway Plant to benefit from low ramp and beavertail approach angles for loading and unloading.

"We specify Andover Trailers bodywork on our trucks, as it is built to last," comments Ian Powell, director at Highway Plant.

"Our teams perform multiple collections and deliveries with these vehicles every day, and they don't miss a beat," he adds.

Powell pints to the bodywork, which also incorporates safety features such as steady legs, to ensure a stable platform for loading and unloading on uneven terrain, as well as six pairs of lashing points in the floor.

Andover Trailers has also installed a drawbar coupling, enabling the vehicle to tow a 3.5 tonne trailer, for added flexibility.

"The team at Andover Trailers make the whole body building process easy to manage, and we're confident this latest asset will provide a long and reliable life on the fleet," states Powell.
