Hildon refreshes bottled water fleet with more DAF trucks 14 September 2015

High-end mineral water company Hildon has added two new DAF LF 280 FA 18-tonne rigids to its existing DAF tonners, running on palletised distribution in the Home Counties – and ordered a further CF 460 FAS drawbar.

Hildon UK and export distribution manager Simon Prosser says the original order stemmed from an expectation of “exceptionally good” service levels from supplying dealer Adams Morey in Southampton—and poorservice from its previous unnamed truck supplier.

He also states that the firm is moving from leading its vehicles to going for outright ownership – again in part due to the aftersales benefits expected of DAF Trucks and Adams Morey.

“We needed assurance of very high levels of service from DAF and its dealer in Southampton, and I’m very happy to report that they’ve delivered on their promises – support has been exceptionally good,” states Prosser.

“We leased our existing DAF 15-tonners and Adams Morey had proved its credentials ... so the move to outright purchase with our latest 18-tonners was the logical next step,” he continues.

“As a result, we’ve taken five-year R&M packages for both trucks,” he adds.

Prosser says the company now has a “cost effective transport solution”, supported by an aftersales package that “continues to impress”.
