HRVS gets IRTE Workshop Accreditation’s first A-plus rating 04 February 2013

MAN Truck & Bus UK's main truck centre in Sheffield (HRVS) has become the first commercial vehicle dealer workshop in the UK to attain A+ status as part of the IRTE's new Workshop Accreditation.

"We have long been calling for an independent appraisal of workshop practices," comments Keith Sims, group operations director at HRVS Group, speaking of the industry-wide scheme, designed in conjunction with the FTA, to audit workshop performance.

"IRTE Workshop Accreditation is a measure of our competence – indeed, my wish is for it to become the quality-assured standard across the industry," he adds.

HRVS in Sheffield was inspected across all its workshop services and practices, including premises, equipment, technical and clerical staff, management and documentation.

Sims has no doubt the MAN UpTime Principle (UTP) – MAN's own dealer monitoring tool – has been a factor in attaining its A+ status.

"MAN's UTP has been key in helping us maintain a very high level of service for our customers," states Sims.

"KPIs on services, such as MoT pass rates, remain high because my workshop staff technicians want to be the best in the MAN network."

MAN's head of UK service John Davies adds: "We're thrilled with HRVS's progress, and its A+ accreditation is a real boost for the team in Sheffield.

"I know Keith is focused on the same achievement for Ripley and Scunthorpe, but, on a national level, we're now working hard to roll-out the IRTE Workshop Accreditation Scheme across the MAN network."
