Hundreds celebrate MAN UK Apprentice of the Year Awards 20 October 2015

More than 200 apprentices and guests acknowledged the achievements of MAN’s apprentices at the annual MAN Truck & Bus Apprentice of the Year awards last week (14 October 2015) at Donnington Park.

All employees from the MAN network of Truck Centres and Service Centres completing their MAN apprenticeships received their graduation certificates from Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell.

Top plaudits went to the outstanding individuals in every year group, with awards for Mechanical Apprentice of the Year and most improved, plus awards for those in the Parts and Administration categories.

“Figures show a 10% increase in the vehicle parc in the UK, while the skills base is falling by 5%,” commented MAN aftersales director John Davies.

“This shows that you, our apprentices, really are the future,” he continued.

“As graduates of this scheme, you have reached a pivotal point in your careers. You are now skilled workers and, as MAN looks to increase its market share, we will be needing more service hours, which means more technicians.

“This is about recognising achievement and celebrating the management, supervisors and even the managing directors of the future.”

MAN Apprenticeships are managed with the S&B Training Academy, which has a state-of-the-art CV workshop and training facility in Bristol.
