Hunwick Engineering cuts costs through wheel alignment 27 October 2011

A car transporter manufacturer from Essex is reducing its customer's running costs by decreasing tyre wear and fuel consumption.

Hunwick Engineering bought a Haweka Axis200 wheel aligner with trailer kit to enable the firm to check the alignment on new car transporter trailers before they leave the factory.

Martyn Wood, technical director at Hunwick's, explains that the Axis200 takes less than 10 minutes to accurately measure every angle on a truck in the as-driven position.

There is no need to lift the vehicle, and the alignment system can be used on twin-steer, rigid, semi-trailers and buses.

"The Axis200 was specially adapted for our range of trailers and is used at least three times a week," states Wood. "The aligner is easy to use and has reduced idle time and costs in the workshops waiting for third parties to arrive to check tracking."
