Geoff Kearsley, HW Martin operations and service manager, says the firm knew it had to move over to simplified paperless processes, so approached r2c Online.
“We have been able to dramatically streamline our administrative processes,” explains Kearsley.
“The system creates an entirely paperless solution to manage workshop administration, getting rid of the need for paper copies of service records. We are currently saving over 40 hours a month in administration alone.”
He also says that the system is delivering significant gains in the workshop, too – with technicians now completing inspections on remote PC terminals, and inspection sheets uploaded directly to the r2c Online portal.
And he adds that r2c Online’s inspection sheets have been pre-configured to match the wide range of plant and transport equipment going through its workshop – again simplifying processes.
“Technicians are very enthusiastic about the product. We have increased workshop productivity by over 33 hours a month and have saved around 600 sheets of paper a month too,” comments Kearsley.
For him, though, improvements are also about transparency.
“Over and above the productivity gains and admin savings, one of the main benefits we have seen has to be the simplicity of the design,” he explains.
“r2c is transparent, with simple stages of work progress, and with all digital inspection work flows tailored exactly as we need, allowing full and detailed reports of our vehicles.”
Management, he says, now have the ability to monitor how quickly the workshop is processing orders and identify potential problem areas without delays or miscommunications.
