Hyva claims Boughton’s skiploader is almost identical copy 22 August 2013

Tippers and skiploaders builder Hyva is claiming that competitor Boughton's new skiploader is a copy of its own long-standing truck "almost to the last nut and bolt".

According to Tony Davies, managing director of Hyva UK, the differences in detail are infinitesimal.

He points to: the design and look of the lifting arms; design and operation of the jack legs; the multi-position asymmetric bin stops and guides along and across the floor; its removable access panels for improved maintenance; shortened rear for improved manoeuvrability; and the steep tip angle under pneumatic control.

All existing Hyva designs, he says, noting only that Boughton hasn't quite managed Hyva's narrow width design – being 70mm wider, including the sheeting system.

"We say a big 'thank you' to Boughton for demonstrating so effectively just how good the established Hyva skiploader design really is," comments Davies ironically.

"By copying Hyva so closely in its latest design, Boughton has clearly recognised most of the key design features of our established Hyva skiploader - and hence why our product has become so successful," he adds.
