IAE rounds up its Iveco-only fleet with Euro 6 Stralis Hi-Way23 April 2014

Livestock equipment manufacturer IAE has completed its fleet upgrade to Iveco-only trucks, with the arrival of its first Euro 6 Stralis Hi-Way– and it has already ordered two more.

Its Iveco tractor units were specified with the 460bhp FPT Industrial Cursor 11 engine, which delivers up to 2,150 Nm of torque between 925 and 1,500 rpm.

All three of IAE's Stralis Hi-Way tractors will be mounted with an Iveco light bar and twin roof mounted beacons.

The specification also includes a Hi-Comfort bunk and swivelling passenger seat, as well as factory-fitted satellite navigation and Iveco's Driving Style Evaluation tool, which it's claimed can achieve 5—12% fuel savings.

"Being one of the first UK fleets to run a Euro 6 Stralis holds real appeal," says IAE's Frank Klucznik (junior).

"We've been very comfortable with the performance of our existing Cursor engines, so we had no hesitation in becoming an early adopter of a Euro 6 model," he adds.

His new Stralis trucks are expected to cover up to 120,000km a year. Servicing and maintenance will be carried out by Sherwood Truck & Van.
