Logistics manager Andy Ryan (pictured right) says the firm had previously run MAN vehicles and did its research when some of the fleet were due for replacement.
“Efficiency and economy were clearly key factors in the decisions, but we also asked our drivers what they are looking for,” he says.
“After analysis of all that information it was clear the MAN TGS was the right choice for us as part of our rolling replacement of vehicles as they reach six years on the road,” he continues.
“The drivers were especially keen on the brand and the feedback we have had is the cab size makes a difference and the MAN’s win on that score.”
Instarmac specified MAN’s Euro 6 D2066LF68 engine, delivering 316bhp and 1,600 Nm of torque, mated to the ZF 16 S 222 DD manual transmission.
Ryan says the new trucks will be responsible for delivering its products nationwide, stating that running with its own fleet and drivers means less damage.
