IPL Haulage back to DAF with Euro 6 Super Space XFs 01 April 2015

IPL Haulage has returned to DAF Trucks as its preferred truck supplier, with the delivery of four new Euro 6 XF 460 FTG 6x2 tractor units.

The Southampton-based container operator says it went back to DAF for the organisation's service levels – and has also boosted its 30-strong truck fleet with four used Euro-5 DAF XFs.

The new DAF trucks are all premium duty long-haul tractor units specified with the 460bhp MX-13 engine and AS Tronic automated gearbox.

IPL also specified Super Space Cabs with a high level of equipment –including microwave, fridge and inverter – plus DAF Telematics, i part to underpin driver training and improve "already impressive" productivity figures.

"DAF provides impressive service levels," comments managing director Ian Percival, adding that DAF trucks' 99% on-time service over 12 months to customer NYK Line prove the point.

"It's in the third and fourth year of ownership when DAF's quality begins to show – that's the truck on the road and the service support that keeps it there," continues Percival.

And he adds that, with a long and good working relationship with DAF dealer Adams Morey, he is pleased to be back with DAF.

"The Super Space Cabs have that X-factor, and offer the driver something a bit extra. We value our drivers and I believe a happy driver is a productive one," says Percival.

"That's why I prefer a one-man-one-truck operation – to instil a sense of pride."

The new DAF trucks were acquired on a four-year funding package with Paccar Financial, and supplied with five-year DAF MultiSupport R&M contracts through Adams Morey.
