IRTE Fleet Engineer of the Year 2016 shortlist revealed 31 August 2016

Veolia’s Michael Venner, Gary King of Sainsbury’s and Flogas Britain’s Allan Eyre have been shortlisted for the IRTE Fleet Engineer of the Year award in the HGV category.

In the bus and coach category, shortlisted fleet engineers for the IRTE top award are: Eddie Cross, London Borough of Redbridge; David Gutcher, First Aberdeen; and Peter Sumner, Stagecoach Manchester.

The winners will be announced by senior traffic commissioner Beverley Bell, patron of the SOE (Society of Operations Engineers – the umbrella organisation for the IRTE) at this year’s IRTE Conference dinner on Tuesday 27 September, at Eastwood Hall, Nottinghamshire.

All shortlisted fleet engineers will be invited to attend the dinner, which will be hosted by former England world cup winning rugby star Ben Kay.

Run by the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers), the awards are aimed at recognising fleet engineers who can demonstrate excellent engineering standards, as well as success in implementing innovations that improve operational performance, compliance and safety.
