Isuzu Grafters fuel efficiency at Scottish estate27 June 2017

Champfleurie Estates now has an all-Isuzu distribution fleet with the delivery of its third Isuzu Grafter 35-tonne truck.

The vehicle is delivering bagged firewood and other timber products to customers within a 25 mile radius of the 15th century estate in Linlithgow, West Lothian.

The narrow-cabbed Grafter N35.120 rigid has been specified with a bespoke dropside body, to enable two bags of firewood to be stacked side by side, increasing the capacity for deliveries. The truck also has a rear-mounted Penny Hydraulics 1200kg crane.

Champfleurie’s first Grafter went into service in 2007, with the second in 2012. Both have standard dropside bodies, also with Palfinger rear-mounted cranes. All three trucks are delivering logs, woodchips and other timber products such as garden furniture.

As well as payload and reliability, Champfleurie’s Ricky Kerr says the Grafter’s size makes it ideal for the fleet: “The Isuzus can literally go wherever a car can go, causing no disruption or traffic impediment when delivering.

“One question often raised by customers is concern about trucks being able to reach their property... We can easily put their minds at rest by saying that there will not be an issue with the Isuzu Grafter, which is seen as a positive by all our customers.”
