Iveco asks industry to share its 40th anniversary 29 June 2015

Iveco has opened a unique book for drivers, owner-operators, enthusiasts, media and employees past and present, aimed at sharing special moments from its four decades of building vehicles – being celebrated this year.

Formed in 1975 by the union of Magirus-Deutz, Fiat Industrial Vehicles, Lancia Special Vehicles, Unic and OM, the truck maker has sold millions of vehicles in more than 160 countries – and won impressive awards, including four-time winner of International Truck of the Year and two-time International Van of the Year champion.

Through acquisitions and alliances over the years – including the 1986 joint venture with Ford of Europe's truck division, culminating in the formation of Iveco Ford Truck – Iveco has become a group with huge engineering talent.

Today Iveco is a brand of CNH Industrial, a giant in the capital goods sector, and has production plants in Europe, China, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and Africa.

Iveco employs close to 21,000 individuals globally, managing production in seven countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America.

It also has 4,200 sales and service outlets in more than 160 countries.

"Since the first Iveco vehicle rolled off the production line, our models have gone on to travel many millions of miles," comments Stuart Webster, managing director of Iveco in the UK and Ireland.

"That's why we are reaching out to everyone who has been touched by Iveco, and inviting them to help tell our 40-year story."

Iveco is also marking the anniversary with a video on its YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/XwSoJzxHoVs which recounts some of the biggest events in the company's history.

Iveco has now set-up a website at www.iveco40.com, published in 14 languages, and is encouraging people to share their Iveco stories in pictures or videos.

Every week the contribution with the most votes on the website will be featured on the homepage and shared across Iveco's social networking.

Finally, the top 40 will be selected and released in a special publication dedicated to Iveco's anniversary.

Entries close on 30 November 2015.
