Iveco ignites gas industry awards with Stralis NP27 January 2017

Iveco’s Stralis NP, the first natural gas truck for long-haul operations, has beaten four rivals from a range of industries to clinch the award for ‘project of the year’ at the European Gas Awards of Excellence 2017.

Held on 23-25 January in Vienna, the awards were part of the European Gas Conference, the annual meeting for the European gas industry, where 450 attendees and more than 80 gas producers came together to debate issues affecting the future for Europe’s energy sector.

Iveco was one of five shortlisted companies to present their projects to the conference. The others were Zeebrugge’s second LNG jetty; Sabine Pass LNG terminal; the LNG Dunkerque terminal; and Audi’s e-gas project.

Pierre Lahutte, Iveco brand president, says: “We are very proud that Iveco has been again rewarded for its commitment to sustainability.”

He adds: “Our New Stralis NP ... is a revolutionary gas truck for sustainable transport: it builds on Iveco’s extensive expertise to take a step into the future and it is the first true long-haul gas truck in the market that offers a real alternative to diesel vehicles and the most sustainable long-distance transport truck ever.”
