Iveco in ‘pole position’ with two sustainability awards27 February 2017

Iveco has taken top spot in two of three categories at the inaugural Sustainable Truck of the Year awards.

Organised by Italian magazine Vado e Torno and presented at Transpotec 2017, in Verona, Iveco’s New Daily Electric (pictured) took top prize in the van category, while its Eurocargo CNG won first place in the distribution category.

The Stralis NP was also a finalist in the tractor category – Iveco was the only manufacturer to be shortlisted in all three categories.

Maurizio Cervetto, chief editor of Vado e Torno, praised the New Daily Electric’s “state-of-the-art electrification package”. He also said Iveco was in “pole position” in the field of alternative fuels, noting the Eurocargo’s range of 400km which, he added, “allows operators in the distribution sector to wave diesel vehicles goodbye with no regrets”.
