Iveco’s Grays Truck & Van opens new site in Croydon 16 September 2015

Iveco-owned dealership Grays Truck & Van has relocated its Croydon dealership to the former site of Croydon Airport, with full facilities for commercial vehicle sales, service and parts.

Nigel Emms, director brand and communications at Iveco, believes Croydon is now one of the largest franchised commercial vehicle workshops inside the M25.

“Croydon is a strategically key location in our network, not only for its close proximity to central London, but for the fact it is situated in an area with such a high concentration of commercial vehicles,” states Emms.

“We need a 12-bay workshop to meet the servicing demand Grays Truck & Van is seeing. Plus we’ve used the relocation as a fantastic opportunity to kit out the dealership from scratch, exactly the way we want it,” he continues.

“As well as the extensive parts and servicing facilities, we’ve also included valuable space for the new and used vehicle sales operation.

“It’s been many months in the planning, but my colleagues at Grays are now very excited to be welcoming customers to their new home.”

The opening follows an investment of close to £1 million, and the dealership has been fitted out with what Emms describes as the latest in vehicle maintenance and diagnostic equipment – including a new tachograph bay and brake roller tester.

In brief detail, there are vehicle ramps in nine of the 12 work bays, manned by a team of technicians capable of repair and maintenance across all CV types, from small vans to heavy trucks.

The dealership also carries out MOT preparation, brake testing, tachograph and speed limiter calibration and fitting.

The new site is also home to two Iveco Assistance Non-Stop vehicles, on standby to provide 24/7 roadside assistance.
