The Kent-based operator’s latest additions to its 22-strong fleet are two 32-tonne Range C380 8x4s, with 8m3 McPhee concrete mixer bodies, and one 44-tonne Range T480 6x2 tractor with Fruehauf tipping trailer.
Works director Colin Dring says: “Our purchasing decisions are primarily driven by vehicle reliability, customer service, delivery schedule as well as competitive deals and we felt that Renault Trucks currently offered a competitive package when considered against other manufacturers.”
J Clubb’s transport co-ordinator David Atkinson adds that service was a key factor, too: “The flexibility of the Renault Trucks dealer network is a big plus... They will also collect a truck when it goes in for servicing which means the driver has time to deliver an extra load during the day – a huge bonus in our hectic schedules.”
The Renault vehicles are popular with drivers, he adds, noting the cab comfort and automatic gearbox, but the Range T stands out for him: “The new T480 tractor unit is unbelievable – it’s an HGV that drives like an MPV.”
