Japan Centre Group adds to Isuzu fleet04 December 2019

Japan Centre Group has taken delivery of its fifth Isuzu truck, moving up for the first time to a 13.5-tonner to meet growing demand for its retail and restaurant business deliveries.

Supplied by dealer Cordwallis Commercials, of Reading, the latest addition is a 13.5-tonne Isuzu F135.240(E) model with air suspension and Easyshift automatic transmission. The truck has been specified with a Gray & Adams multi-temperature refrigerated body, with a Thermo King T-1000R Spectrum refrigeration system and Whisper kit, supplied by Marshall Fleet Solutions.

The multi-temperature refrigerated rigid is delivering from Japan Centre Group’s main warehouse to its stores and restaurants, providing a daily delivery service to two London outlets and a weekly delivery to its restaurants in Oxford and Manchester.

“The first Isuzu 13.5-tonne rigid has just started working for us and this vehicle allows us to provide a far more efficient and economical daily delivery service by using the spacious multi-compartment specification for frozen, chilled and ambient products in one truck,” says Tomohiro Nakayama, head of logistics and supply chain operations at Japan Centre Group.

The operator’s nine-strong fleet also includes three 7.5-tonne Isuzu trucks and a 3.5-tonne Isuzu Grafter.
