Jewson is a thousand times better with MAN03 May 2017

Truck manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK is delivering its 1,000th vehicle to Saint-Gobain, the parent company of builders’ merchants Jewson, and to celebrate the milestone the truck has been decorated in unique livery.

MAN also celebrated the milestone deal by presenting Ian Berrill, transport director of Saint-Gobain, with a model of the TGM 18.250 4x2 BB on the MAN stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham in April.

Berrill said: “As a business employing 17,000 in the UK and Ireland alone, Saint-Gobain recognises the need to provide comfort, performance and safety while addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change.

“We have a massive fleet of vehicles servicing our many brands and our business values clearly translate into those decisionmaking processes too.

“This new vehicle with the new Euro 6c engine means we know we are getting the maximum performance from the truck and it is delivering efficiency in terms of payload and fuel consumption.”

Powered by a 6.9 litre six-cylinder engine rated at 247 bhp, the 5.425m wheelbase MAN TGM dropsides that is going into service delivering for Jewson nationwide has been supplied on a gold repair and maintenance contract.
