Jim Wilmer & Sons branches out with bespoke Andover trailer24 March 2015

Jim Wilmer & Sons has specified a bespoke four-axle stepframe trailer from Andover Trailers, to transport its large timber harvesting machines across Scotland.

The new equipment replaces a previous Andover trailer, acquired in 2006, but which can no longer transport the large machinery used by the Ayrshire-based firm today.

The SFCL 73 will hook up with a Scania tractor and be in use six days a week transporting plant.

The trailer has a beavertail, BPW air suspension, and two fixed and two self-steering BPW axles. Heavy-duty hydraulic steady legs ensure a stable platform when the trailer is parked on uneven ground.

David Wilmer, director of Jim Wilmer & Sons, says: "Being able to design the trailer to our exact specification was a real draw in placing a repeat order. Andover has built us a trailer that helps make running our business easier – which is fantastic."

Other features include hardwood flooring, side extensions to the bed, bridge and beavertail, and full LED lighting.
