JJ Food Service boosts fleet with Carrier Transicold Xarios units11 January 2017

National wholesaler JJ Food Service has expanded its fleet with 20 new Isuzu Forward 7.5-tonne trucks, featuring insulated Paneltex bodies and Carrier Transicold Xarios 600 mono-temperature refrigeration units.

The Enfield-based operator has a 100% Carrier policy for its 160-strong truck fleet, describing the refrigeration units as a “reliable workhorse”.

“We’re opening a number of new sites this year... and Carrier Transicold will remain our preferred supplier as the fleet grows to match this increased workload, thanks in no small part to our long and productive working relationship with the company,” says Mickey Montague, chief transport officer for JJ Food Service.

“They’re easy to operate, dependable, and ideally suited to the urban multi-drop nature of our work.”

The new arrivals will be used intensively, delivering predominantly frozen goods, and are expected to be in service for up to five years.

The Xarios range is designed to maintain a set point of between -20 and +30 degs C in vehicles with box volumes from 8-40m3.
