John Mitchell puts health heroes to the fore in 202102 March 2021

Grangemouth-based John Mitchell Haulage & Warehousing is paying tribute to ‘health heroes’ for the individual fleet names of its 21 new MAN TGX 26.470 tractor units scheduled for delivery during 2021.

The latest MANs, delivered in batches between February and October, are the company’s first ‘New Generation’ truck models from the manufacturer, who this year marks a 25-year working partnership with John Mitchell Haulage & Warehousing.

Founded in 1956, the company’s tradition of naming every vehicle stretches back to the 1960s. It has always used the ‘Grange’ prefix for its vehicle names. By 1 March 2021, the first seven ‘Health Heroes’ arrivals were already in service. Amongst them were; Grange The Captain Tom Foundation, Grange Strathcarron Hospice, Grange Sands and Grange Parkinson’s UK.

“We aim to raise awareness of the selected charities during the year, who will all have their names and logos displayed on an assigned vehicle,” reports Lynsey Mitchell, business support supervisor. In addition, the firm will make a cash donation to every one of the 21 organisations featured.

John Mitchell Haulage & Warehousing currently operates a fleet of 130 vehicles from a 20-acre site near Grangemouth Docks. The company has an extensive depot development and redesign project in progress, following the acquisition of an neighbouring five-acre site back in late 2019. This project is scheduled for completion in spring 2022.
