John Sutch Cranes takes another top-spec heavy MAN 14 July 2016

John Sutch Cranes has added another MAN TGX truck plated at 150 tonnes gcw to its eight-strong fleet of specialist support vehicles.

The latest unit is a MAN TGX 26.560 6x4 D38 specified with MAN’s XLX hi-roof sleeper cab. It is powered by a D3876LF01, 15.2 litre, six-cylinder Euro 6 engine, delivering 560bhp and 2,700Nm of torque, and driving through MAN’s Tipmatic with integrated retarder.

Founder John Sutch says MAN is his first choice for crane support work.

“We have eight 150 tonne wagons in the fleet and they are all MAN simply because they have never once let us down,” he says.

Sutch explains that these trucks are the support vehicles to the cranes, carrying the ballast needed for cranes operations, so always travelling fully loaded.

“We have never been let down by MAN or the vehicles,” continues Sutch.

“They go in at night for R&M and they are ready to go back out on the road the next morning without us suffering any downtime.

“MAN Truck & Bus Manchester has provided us with excellent service for the last 20 years and we are still running vehicles that are about 10 years old.”
