Keltruck supplies flagship Scania truck to Alwin 06 June 2011

Waste management transporter Alwin is now working a new R480LA 6x2 MNA ScaniaTopline tractor unit, from Keltruck, as a fleet addition to match growth of the business.

Alwin managing director David Rowlingson reveals that he has also ordered a G Cab, as a replacement for a Scania coming to the end of its five-year contract.

The firm exhibited both at last month's Peterborough Truckfest and received highly commended certificates.

Rowlingson explains that the firm's new flagship vehicle has been treated to a cherished plate, ALW 11N, and named Sir Alan after his father, chief executive of Alwin ,to mark his 50 year milestone in the industry.

"The specification of ALW 11N was chosen to create and promote a great image of our company," states Rowlingson.

"The replacement G Cab is the first G Cab we are entering into our fleet as recommended by Gary Hughes [of Keltruck].," he continues.

"We believe it will be a fantastic all-round truck, allowing 44 tonne operations by drawbar, off road capability by its 6x4 configuration and long distance capability, because of its sleeper compartment."

Rowlingson started working with Keltruck in 2001 when he bought Alwin's first Scania. "The Scania brand has proven to be a great product and is always on my list for additions or replacements," he says.
