Knott-Avonride launches novel auto-adjusting trailer brakes 15 February 2013

What is being described as a "ground breaking innovation that's set to solve age-old issues in trailer performance" has been launched by Knott-Avonride, in the form of an automatic adjuster for auto-reverse brakes.

Its universal brake system is claimed to differ from other models in that its automatic self adjust offers smooth braking as well as equal and consistent wear of all brake shoe linings.

Phil Holman, joint managing director of Knott-Avonride, says that, in addition, operators that use the fitment on their trailers get further benefits including: faster trailer inspection; reduced tractor unit wear and tear; and fewer issues associated with reversing, such as damaged couplings and linkages due to trailer shunting.

"This exciting innovation dramatically improves the durability and reliability of trailer braking systems, with significant performance benefits for trailer owners," asserts Holman.

"Knott has devoted decades to improving brake technology and this latest system really sets the new standard across the industry."
