Lanz makes MAN tippers its automatic choice 29 November 2011

Tipper operator Lanz Group, at Heathrow, has added two new MAN TGS 35.400 8x4 muck-away tippers, with extended 'M' day cabs.

A further TGM 18.250 4x2 skip-loader has also been acquired for the company's skip hire service. Lanz now operates seven MAN 8x4 chassis, describing them as "the ideal muck-shifters".

"The MANs are really good on the tip," comments transport and general manager, Bob Leach.

"They work every day in the toughest conditions and they need to be on top of the job. In our experience, other trucks sometimes seem to struggle on the tip, but, the MANs just keep plugging away. They're the ideal muck-shifter."

Leach adds that Lanz was very keen to try the MAN TipMatic auto-boxes. "Our drivers are getting used to them now, and initial feedback has been very positive. And running without AdBlue is always a preference for us," he reveals.

"I'm very pleased with the resale value, too," he adds, "we've just moved on some '04 vehicles and it was a very quick, financially beneficial exercise."
