Lloyds British Testing to save £250k on Ford ECOnetic vans 23 May 2013

Birmingham-based national lifting equipment specialist Lloyds British Testing says it expects to save £250,000 a year as a result of a root and branch review of its fleet of more than 90 commercial vehicles.

The review, which was carried out following advice from Burton upon Trent-based fleet vehicle management firm CBVC, was aimed at right-sizing the fleet.

Lloyds British Testing managing director Gus Zona reckons it will save the firm around £200 per month for each of its vehicles.

"With worldwide economic conditions so arduous and fuel prices shooting up, it is essential to look at every aspect of our business to guarantee our efficient operation," states Zona.

"The majority of our medium-sized panel vans are being downsized to smaller, more fuel-efficient models as they are now only required to carry toolkits rather than bulkier items," he continues.

"We have also been able to reduce our carbon footprint by selecting Ford's ECOnetic models – a decision which has been welcomed by our employees."

The fleet of Ford vehicles operates through a network of 11 centres nationwide.
