Logistics business makes the connection with Mercedes Sprinters06 May 2014

Mobile telcoms industry supplier 100+ Logistics has purchased six Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDI vans, extending its fleet to 20.

The latest additions mark a change in policy for the Derby-based operator – which has been in business for 10 years – as this is the first time it has purchased vehicles rather than leasing them.

Three of the Sprinters are long-bodied vans; the others were supplied as chassis cabs and fitted with Luton boxes by Alloy Bodies, of Manchester.

Supplied by dealer Mertrux with Mercedes-Benz service care contracts, maintenance will be performed by the dealer overnight to minimise downtime.

Proprietor Barrie Tullett says, for him, the Sprinter represents the best overall package: "Our vans cover anything from 60,000 to 80,000 miles per year... This means reliability is paramount and, in this respect, experience has proved the Mercedes-Benz to be the best vehicle on the market – we've been running rented Sprinters since day one."

The firm has since ordered five more Sprinters and two Citans.

100+ Logistics works for mobile telecoms contractors, delivering equipment to transmission station sites.
