LowCVP shortlist announced for green vehicles 22 January 2013

Big names are in the running for this year's Low Carbon Champions Awards, awarded by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP), which has now revealed its shortlist.

Companies in the running for the Low Carbon Heavy Duty Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year award, sponsored by Millbrook, are Wrightbus with TfL (for its hybrid-powered New Bus for London (NBfL)), Iveco and Hardstaff.

Meanwhile, firms in the frame for the Low Carbon Car and Van Manufacturer of the Year, sponsored by the Energy Saving Trust, are Renault, Citroen, BMW, Vauxhall and Toyota.

Moving on to the Low Carbon Vehicle Operator of the Year, sponsored by BAE Systems, the nominees are Stobart Group, John Lewis, London Borough of Hackney, Sheffield City Council, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Commercial Group and Howard Tenens.

And the shortlist for the Low Carbon Fuel Initiative of the Year, sponsored by Michelin, comprises Air Fuel Synthesis, Cella Energy, Greenergy Fuels, Air Products and BP Biofuels.

LowCVP is a public/private partnership that exists to accelerate a sustainable shift to lower carbon vehicles and fuels and create opportunities for UK businesses.

The awards winners will be announced at a ceremony at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster on Tuesday, 29 January 2013. The Awards ceremony follows a reception to celebrate the LowCVP's 10th anniversary.
