Lyreco chooses Burnt Tree for Mercedes 5-tonne vans deal 02 September 2014

Office supplies company Lyreco UK has acquired a further 57 panel vans from Burnt Tree as part of a fleet replacement programme, this time going for 5 tonners, instead of its usual 3.5 tonners.

All are Mercedes-Benz 513 5t integral vans on a five-year contract hire deal that also includes FleetForce, Burnt Tree's online fleet management tool.

Burnt Tree has also supplied Lyreco with a further 7.5t DAF rigid box van with tail lift as well as a Volkswagen Caddy Maxi van.

"When we were looking to replace our 5-tonne vehicles, Burnt Tree impressed us not only with the service that we had received with our previous 3.5-tonne vehicles from them but also their FleetForce programme that was now available," explains Jennie Lucas, national distribution manager at Lyreco.

She says that fleet management information through FleetForce is "impressive", adding that it was a major selling point because the 5-tonners "fall within the scope of our operator's licence".

The first 30 5-tonne vehicles have now gone into service in Lyreco's national distribution fleet, with the balance due for delivery later this month.
