MAN moves workshop digitisation up a gear with Solera deal21 March 2018

MAN Truck & Bus is predicting its customers will experience “significant added value” thanks to a partnership with digital transaction business Solera Holdings.

The deal sees MAN using Solera’s Digital Garage platform to boost connectivity in the aftersales business, linking all workshops and service centres worldwide.

MAN says the system will mean customers save time when dropping off or collecting vehicles, with other processes such as estimates also benefiting.

Solera will run either in the background or be offered as part of MAN Digital Services on the company’s own RIO logistics platform.

“Our company’s partnership with Solera is another step on the road to digitisation,” says Christian Kaiser, chief data officer at MAN Truck & Bus.

“We are gradually branching out from being a commercial vehicles manufacturer with a focus on hardware to become a provider of intelligent and sustainable transportation solutions. Further digitisation of the aftersales business has a key part to play in this transformation,” he adds.

Tony Aquila, founder, chairman and CEO of Solera, says: “We are privileged to work with MAN Truck & Bus to deliver on their vision of a digitally enhanced and streamlined customer journey. Our mission is to disrupt the status quo of the global fleet aftersales market.”
