Medical goods distributor boosts refrigerated van fleet 08 November 2018

Pharmaceutical logistics firm LF&E Refrigerated Transport has expanded its fleet with two refrigerated Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, supplied by fleet management provider VMS and with bespoke conversion by CoolKit.

The new vehicles are compliant with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards and join a 40-strong fleet delivering medical goods around the UK and Europe, to care homes, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. The fast-growing business is opening new depots and has plans to double the fleet.

“We ensure that the goods are there on time, in pristine condition with an auditable temperature record. There’s no margin for error,” says Jason Buckley, LF&E’s founder and managing director.

The vehicles were delivered within eight weeks of the order.

“VMS spent time understanding our requirements and listening to our needs. We received updates throughout the build process from both VMS and CoolKit,” says Buckley (pictured, right, with Calum Clelland, VMS national account manager).

CoolKit also enabled engineers to fit trackers to the vehicles during the build process to ensure the vehicles could go into service immediately.

“We have been really impressed with the build quality. It is a very neat, professional job and the recessed condensers in the roof not only offer a better look but will also increase fuel efficiency due to the improved aerodynamics,” adds Buckley.
